Power Technologies (Pty) Ltd (Powertech), a wholly owned subsidiary of the JSE-listed Altron group, has acquired a majority shareholding in QuadPro, a business established to focus on offering turnkey substation solutions into the South African and African market. This is a recently formed business which has already won projects valued in excess of R100 million. The business will hence forward be known as Powertech QuadPro.Powertech has now merged its already existing turnkey substation business division within the former Powertech IST (now Powertech System Integrators) into Powertech QuadPro. This new combined operation will have the economies of scale and the resourcing needed to grow the turnkey substation business in South Africa and the rest of the African continent.Harry Browne, CEO of Powertech QuadPro believes there will be great benefit for both Powertech and QuadPro.
